Police search for man wanted in connection to Lethbridge stabbing

A warrant has been issued for a man wanted in connection to a stabbing in Lethbridge.

Police responded to the assault after paramedics found the victim in the area of the 800 block of 5 Ave South around 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 5.

“The 38-year-old victim was transported to hospital and later air lifted to Calgary. The victim is currently in stable condition,” reads a news release from the Lethbridge Police Service. “Following further investigation, including a review of video surveillance, the subject was identified. The accused and victim – who are known to one another – had been involved in a verbal altercation prior to the assault. This was not a random incident.”

Police identified 51-year-old Rodney Michael Black Plume but have been unable to locate him. He is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public.

Police ask anyone who could help find him to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
