ALERT investigation wraps up with significant drug bust in Coalhurst

A drug bust in Coalhurst last week has resulted in the seizure of about $118,000 worth of fentanyl.

The three-month investigation by ALERT Lethbridge wrapped up last Thursday with a vehicle stop and search warrant at a home in Coalhurst.

Between the home and vehicle, police recovered 290 grams of suspected carfentanil powder, 67 fentanyl pills, 68 grams of cocaine and nearly $35,000 in cash.

ALERT Inspector Sean Boser says it’s a significant amount of drugs to take out of southern Alberta communities.

25 year old Herman Dhami has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
