A group of local kids getting an up-close look at the world of policing this week.

The annual Kids ‘n Kops program is for children waiting to be matched with a Big Brother or a Big Sister and is run by Lethbridge Police School Resource Officers.

It aims to give kids strong adult role models while they learn about police work.

This year’s program started on Monday and includes demonstrations by K9, the Tactical Team, Explosive Disposal Unit, Ident, the Traffic Response Unit, as well as fun community outings.

The kids also will get a graduation ceremony at the end of the week.
