Calgary man pleads guilty to robbing Lethbridge electronics store

A Calgary man will spend the next year and a half in jail after taking responsibility for his role in a robbery at a Lethbridge Bell store last spring.

Ruach Bang, 21, pleaded guilty earlier this month to all four charges against him, including robbery and flight from police.

He was one of four involved in the robbery at the south Lethbridge electronics store that resulted in two employees being assaulted. The suspects stole 73 new cell phones, worth about $25,000.

The three others in the case were youths at the time of the offence and cannot be named under a court ordered publication ban. All of them previously pleaded guilty to robbery charges and received youth sentences.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
