Whoop-Up Days to return to paid admission in 2024

Whoop-Up Days will return to paid admission this year. The Lethbridge and District Exhibition announced programming for this year’s event, which includes familiar and new attractions from Aug. 20-24.

Pro rodeo will return from Aug. 22-24, along with the Siksikaitsitapi Princess Pageant on Aug. 20 and Powwow Aug. 21-22. There will also be live music all five days with local Alberta artists and headlining performances from Emerson Drive, Big Sugar and Kyle McKearney.

“For decades, Whoop-Up Days has brought the Lethbridge and southern Alberta community together in celebration, and we know this year will do the same,” says Kim Gallucci, Lethbridge and District Exhibition acting CEO. “Our team is focused on providing a great guest experience, and building entertainment that will thrill people of all ages. The countdown is on towards this incredible event.”

Tickets this year will be $15 for adults at the gate or $10 for pre-purchase. Seniors will get in for $13 or $8 if they pre-purchase. Children 12 and under will get in free. The Lethbridge and District Exhibition has introduced a program called Free ‘Til 3, which is sponsored by Gas King. It allows everyone onto the grounds for free from noon to 3 p.m. from Aug. 20-22.

“With these changes, we are building a sustainable experience for this community to ensure Whoop-Up Days remains a staple for generations to come,” says Gallucci. “We want to thank Gas King for supporting our vision, and creating the Free ‘Til 3 initiative, which helps ensure everyone is able to enjoy Whoop-Up Days.”

The Wildlife Festival will also return this year, along with the Extreme Dogs Show and marketplace.

Tickets are on sale now for the event and can be purchased online.
