Long running Lethbridge charities partner up for evening meal program

Streets Alive Mission and the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen are teaming up to consolidate feeding programs for the less fortunate.

Starting on October 1st, the Streets Alive evening meal program will be run out of the Soup Kitchen facility.

Currently, the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen provides 3,700 meals each month of breakfast and lunch while Streets Alive Mission provides 3,000 to 3,750 evening meals each month depending on the season.

Both organizations say the consolidation of the evening meal has a number of benefits including less confusion for clients as to where meals can be obtained, better utilization of the soup kitchen and increased safety for all participants.

Streets Alive Mission will continue to be the primary provider of the evening feeding program with help from the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen.
