Palliser Regional Schools and Town of Coaldale to begin design phase on new building

Funding hasn’t been approved but Palliser Regional Schools and the Town of Coaldale are moving ahead with the design phase for a combined high school and recreation facility.

The Town is ready to proceed with its rec centre and because the facility would include shared mechanical and electrical systems, Palliser is continuing with the design phase as well.

Superintendent Dave Driscoll says he’s hopeful funding will be approved sometime in the near future.

Design work could take up to nine months to complete.

Officials say there will be an opportunity for further stakeholder input on the school design during this phase while the town is also meeting with user groups and organizations to talk about potential amenities.
