The operating hours at spray parks in Lethbridge are changing this week.
The Rotary Centennial Fountain, which can be found in the southeast corner of Galt Gardens, will return to being open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Legacy Spray Park in north Lethbridge’s Legacy Park, will remain open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., unless daytime temperatures peak below 21 degrees Celsius.
Officials are advising residents to call 311 to confirm hours before visiting the sites.
The City of Lethbridge says water conservation has played and will continue to play a role in this season’s spray park operations. This means:
- Most of the water at both sites listed above is clean and recycled.
- Operating hours have continued to be adjusted to meet community needs and weather conditions.
- The water height at the Rotary Centennial Fountain has been lowered to reduce evaporation.
Officials add that the Gyro Spray Park, which is behind Nicholas Sheran Arena in west Lethbridge, does not use recycled water and will only open during prolonged stretches with daytime highs above 30 degrees Celsius.
The spray parks in the city are free to use and will stay open until the Labour Day weekend in September, or as summer weather permits.
