Highway 2 collision near Nanton claims life of 31-year-old man 

A collision on Highway 2 in the Nanton area took the life of a man earlier this week. 

At around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, the Nanton RCMP was called out to a single vehicle crash on Highway 2 involving a semi-truck.  

The RCMP says the semi was carrying ammonium nitrate.  

The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Both lanes of Highway 2 between Township Road 170 and Township Road 164 were closed off but have since been reopened.
