Free Veterans dinner part of National Legion Week Sept. 15

National Legion Week begins Sept. 15, as the Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch hosts a free Veterans dinner.

Veterans are required to register by email at [email protected] or by visiting the Branch and sign-up at the office by Sept. 10.

This dinner allows the Legion to thank the Veterans for their service to the country and their communities.” says Glenn Miller, communications co-chair of the General Stewart Branch.

The invitation extends to the spouse or caretaker. The dinner is paid for through the use of poppy funds.

A reception will take place at the Legion following the dinner. With smaller numbers of Second World War Veterans in the community available to attend, branch members look forward to hearing and sharing stories from the relatives of Veterans of their service.

On Sept. 14, the Legion has partnered with the Lethbridge United Services Institute to screen the movie “Fallen Heroes: Their Journey Home” at the Movie Mill. Tickets are available at the Branch or online through Eventbrite.
