Lethbridge man charged after Coaldale RCMP recover stolen property

A Lethbridge man is facing several property-related charges.

RCMP in Coaldale were notified of a stolen vehicle on Monday from the Grassy Lake area. Officers found the car outside a home in Coaldale and arrested a man a short time later.

Mounties say the investigation found other stolen items in the vehicle including credit cards, a passport, laptop, and jewellery. All of the items are linked to previous thefts in and around Raymond, Taber, and Picture Butte.

29 year old Cayden McCray is facing 17 charges, mostly relating to stolen property. He’s been released from jail and will appear in court in Lethbridge Friday (Sept. 20).

Coaldale RCMP say this is an example of the transient nature of those who commit these type of property-related offences.

Police are reminding the public to report all property crimes so these type of incidents will lead to charges and potentially the return of their property. It is also a good practice to ensure valuables are marked for identification.
