Two people charged in connection to Cookie Crimes break-in

Two people have been arrested and are facing charges connected to the break-in at Cookie Crimes earlier this week.

According to Lethbridge Police officials, 29-year-old Kathy Marie Mills and 26-year-old Davey Clifford Weasel Moccasin are both charged with break and enter to commit theft.

The pair were identified after police continued to investigate the break-in at the store located in Festival Square. On Tuesday, police reported that staff arrived around 5:20 a.m. Monday morning to find the front window had been smashed. In total over $1,500 worth of ice cream and other property was stolen and damages are estimated to be around $1,000.

According to a release from LPS, “the investigation determined the break-in occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. after two subjects smashed the glass and entered the store. Throughout the night video surveillance recorded eight more subjects enter the business through the broken window and steal property.”

Both Mills and Moccasin have been released and are scheduled to appear again in court in the coming months. Police are still trying to identify the remaining subjects.
