UPDATE: Police locate missing psychiatric patient 

UPDATE: The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has confirmed that 32-year-old Alexander Brent Hamilton, who had previously been reported missing from Chinook Regional Hospital, has been found. Police say he was safely taken into custody and returned to the hospital.

Police are asking for help to find a man they say escaped from Chinook Regional Hospital. 

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) reports that 32-year-old Alexander Brent Hamilton escaped from the hospital’s psychiatric unit early Sunday, October 6.  

The LPS adds Hamilton is wanted under a mental health warrant. Police say they are concerned for his wellbeing. 

Hamilton is described as about 5’9” tall, 165 lbs., thin and clean shaven with long, wavy blond hair. The LPS says he was last seen wearing a black hat, black t-shirt, dark pants and red/brown shoes. Police note that Hamilton’s current appearance differs from his appearance in the image provided for release. 

Anyone who has information on Hamilton’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lethbridge Police at 403-328-4444 and reference file 24020099. Tips can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
