A Bow Island man faces charges after a drug bust by the RCMP.
With assistance from the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, RCMP say they made seizures on Thursday, October 17.
Four search warrants were conducted on a business, residence and two vehicles in the southern Alberta town. Police say they seized a “substantial amount” of cocaine, methamphetamine and the proceeds of crime.
Bryan Judkins, 73, is charged with various offences, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime. He has been released from custody and is next scheduled to be in court on January 8, 2025.
Police add the investigation started in September following community concerns related to alleged drug trafficking in the Bow Island and County of Forty Mile regions.
“The Bow Island RCMP is focused on community safety and by arresting individuals involved in the trafficking of illegal drugs, it has prevented these harmful substances from hitting the streets,” says Sgt. Alan Rivard, Bow Island RCMP Detachment Commander.
“This arrest helps ensure Bow Island and the County of Forty Mile remains a safe community. Drug trafficking is extremely harmful, especially in small communities, that can jeopardize our neighborhoods’ well-being and put innocent people at risk. This type of illegal activity will not be tolerated.”
