One person charged in connection to collision at Highway 3 intersection in Taber

Charges have been laid in connection to a collision that sent one person to hospital Wednesday afternoon.

According to Taber Police Service officials, TPS officers along with Taber Emergency Services were called to a two-vehicle collision. Following an investigation, it is alleged van travelling westbound on Highway 3 drove into the 50th Street intersection on a red light, and collided with the SUV travelling southbound on 50th Street.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and the driver of the van was transported to hospital.

According to a Taber Police Service statement, a 55-year-old man from Brooks has been charged for failing to stop at the red light under the Alberta Use of Highways and Rules of the Road Regulation.
