Lethbridge-West by-election called for December 18th

Residents in the Lethbridge-West riding will be heading to the polls next month.

Elections Alberta announced the by-election will be held on Wednesday, December 18th, with advanced voting from the 10th to the 14th of December. According to the provincial elections office candidate nominations are open until 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 30th.

City councillor John Middleton-Hope, who has announced he will be taking an un-paid leave of absence to run as the UCP candidate, with former Lethbridge councillor Rob Miyashiro running under the banner of the Alberta NDP.

Miyashiro and Middleton-Hope are running for the seat that has been vacant since the beginning of July when Shannon Phillips stepped down from her role.
