Winter Storm WARNING now includes Lethbridge, Taber, Milk River regions. Warning continues for Cardston, Fort Macleod, Magrath, Waterton, Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass, Claresholm, Okotoks areas.
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.
Heavy snowfall will continue to intensify over southwestern Alberta today. With continued upslope flow through the weekend, most regions will see significant amounts of snowfall. Total accumulations will approach 40 to 50 cm by Monday morning with some localities reaching 70 cm. The snowfall will taper off during the day Monday when the snow moves into Saskatchewan.
As of 9:30 AM Saturday, 30 cm of snow has been reported in the Crowsnest region.
Heavy wet snow may cause local power outages.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
