Partnership to help enhance trail network in Lethbridge

A formal partnership has been announced to enhance trails in Lethbridge.

The Parks and Cemeteries department has teamed with the Lethbridge Trail Alliance, which is a community group dedicated to creating safe and lasting trails in the city.

The group has a goal of protecting unique coulee landscapes while offering recreational experiences for residents and visitors to Lethbridge. Members oversee the maintenance of trails, coordinate volunteers and promote the responsible use of trails.

Officials say the collaboration has been in the works since 2022. The end goal of this initiative is to ensure safer, more sustainable and enjoyable pathways for everyone.

“These types of community-driven partnerships have proven very successful in other municipalities and recreational trail communities,” says Andrew Sommerville, Parks Planning Manager. “It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication and shared vision the LTA and Parks have fostered in recent years.”

More details about the work are available at the City of Lethbridge website.
