Prepay your property taxes for 2025 and save

Lethbridge property owners can make prepayments towards their 2025 property taxes in January or February. This will result in a discount when 2025 tax bills are issued in May.

According to the City of Lethbridge, the discount will be equivalent to earning interest at 1.5 per cent per year from the date of payment starting in 2025 to June 30, 2025. Prepayment amounts cannot exceed the total property tax bill for the preceding year.

Property owners on the Tax Instalment Prepayment Plan program already receive a monthly discount on their credit balance.

Residents can make payments online, at their financial institution, in person at City Hall or using the secured drop box at City Hall. Credit cards are not accepted.

Please note City Hall will be closed from Dec. 23-27 and reopening Dec. 30.

Payments made online, at your bank will be honoured as of the online payment date and the stamp date.

The earlier prepayments are received, the greater the credit applied to the property owner’s 2025 tax account. The City is still accepting enrolment into the monthly TIPP, as well.
