Christmas Hope campaign helps thousands over the holiday season

Due to the generous giving spirit of Lethbridge and area, thousands were able to enjoy a happy holiday season in 2024.

Interfaith Food Bank, MyCityCare Shop of Wonders, Salvation Army Toys for Tots, Lethbridge Food Bank, Volunteer Lethbridge and Lethbridge Family Services’ Angel Tree, helped lighten the burden of financial stress and bring the magic of Christmas to everyone.

Christmas Hope served over 6,200 babies, children and teens and over 3,000 adults this year, which is just under 9,250 individuals in Lethbridge and area.

While numbers did not quite hit the projected numbers of 6,500 children and 3,500 adults, the figures reflect an increase of 83 boy bundles and 128 hampers helping local families in comparison to last year.

In total, over 13,809 service interactions were provided by the partners.

With the increase in need, all Christmas Hope partners are looking for support through the New Year to continue their missions. This was only possible because of almost 1,300 volunteers who put in over 11,850 hours of work during the month of December.
