The cost of rent in Lethbridge is starting to see a rise according to the latest report from Rentals.ca and Urbanation.
In December a one-bedroom rental in the city on average was $1,366 a month seeing a 14.5 per cent uptick compared to the previous year. A two-bedroom unit on average was $1,529 seeing an increase of 8.6 per cent.
Out of the 35 municipalities, Lethbridge finished 32nd on the list, with Edmonton coming in one spot below with the average rent one-bedroom in the provincial capital being $1,328, roughly $36 cheaper than Lethbridge, rent for a two-bedroom apartment on the other hand averages $1,655 roughly costing $126 more per month then Lethbridge. Calgary was the only other Alberta city on the list, finishing 28 out of the 35 included.
Across Alberta, the provincial average was $1,534 a month for a one-bedroom apartment seeing a two per cent increase, while a two-bedroom was $1,876 up one per cent year-over-year.
According to the report Vancouver has the highest rent in Canada while Saskatoon is the lowest of the 35 communities included.
