Alberta Transportation and Canadian Pacific Railway will be doing an urgent repair on Highway 3 (Crowsnest Trail) between 28 St and 30 St that could cause significant traffic delays this week.

As part of the provincial highway network, Crowsnest Trail is maintained by Alberta Transportation.

They have asked the City of Lethbridge inform residents of this construction and request that they consider alternate routes during this time to help reduce congestion.

Weather permitting, the project schedule is expected to go as follows:

  • Eastbound lanes will be closed on Wednesday, October 9
  • Westbound lanes will be closed on Thursday, October 10
  • Both closure will reduce traffic to a single lane from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Contractor Volker Stevin will be doing the traffic control for this project. Signage will be in place to notify motorists and reduced speeds will be in effect.
