‘Cocoa Creations and Continued Connections’ set for Feb. 7

On Feb. 7, you’re invited for an evening of creating your own hot cocoa flavour, while medium Deidra Clay will connect you with your loved ones through a group mediumship demonstration.

Join Clay during “Cocoa Creations with Continued Connections.”

Clay is a holistic practitioner, medium, psychic and intuitive energy healer.

The event is a way to build community, says the medium. “Especially around this time of year, when it can be a little bit lonely and we might be missing our loved ones a little bit more.”

“It’s also a way to utilize a unique drink like hot cocoa as a heart opener and feel connected to spirit,” Clay adds.

Clay’s abilities have been with her for her entire life. “It was not something I felt comfortable sharing. It was something I felt I needed to hide.”

“There’s all those insecurities that come with it. It wasn’t until I had children and I started to recognize those fears being transferred to them when ‘mama bear’ came out. I wanted to learn everything I could about these abilities, so my children didn’t have to be fearful of it,” says Clay. “We fear what we don’t really understand. When I took it upon myself to be a student and learn what these gifts could offer and learn to do it purposely, I became more able to utilize those gifts that were bigger than I ever thought. Originally, it was just to help my family.”

Clay realized her gifts could go further by helping other people connect within their own families to heal, grow and evolve.

Connecting individuals with someone who has passed away is a personal journey, according to Clay. “Each person is going to have different needs, based on where they’re at on that journey.”

“Somebody that has just lost a loved one might want to visit a few more times to feel that connection and help them heal and continue on with their experience and not being caught up so much in the pain.”

For others, maybe it’s been a while since they lost a loved one, and they’re just curious about what happens afterwards, says Clay. “They just might want to connect once. You get different kinds with all different needs.”

The next “Free Your Soul” Market is being held May 3 at the Multicultural Centre in Lethbridge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It features local artisans, intuitive readers, psychics, mediums, card readers, tea leaf readers, astrologers, healers and more.

The market is a place to nurture and explore your curiosity around natural and holistic practices, notes Clay. “We’re hoping to add an extra element to this one to make it a little bit more of an expo style, where there will be interactive workshops, as well as guest speakers.”

“We try and hold about four of these markets a year.,” Clay adds.

There is a following in Lethbridge for the markets. “We’re definitely looking to grow that,” says Clay. “It’s a growing community we’re hoping to love and nurture at this time.”

“Cocoa Creations with Continued Connections” will be held at the Multicultural
Centre from 7-9 p.m. Visit online at soulempowerment.ca for more details.
