Annual Radio-a-thon raises more than $470K for Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation

It was a great success.

The annual Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon surpassed its fundraising goal on Thursday, February 13.

By the event’s end, $473,774 was raised for the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation.

On Thursday, radio stations in Lethbridge, including Vista Radio’s 94.1 CJOC and 98.1 the Ranch, were joined by local health care workers, CRH Foundation team members and people impacted by the work done at the local hospital to share their stories.

The 2025 event saw a return to live broadcasting in the atrium of the hospital.

Honorary event chair Bob Balog remarks that it was a “wonderful day”.

“We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our heart. We’ve exceeded our goal by so very much and we appreciate all the support. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he says.

“This community is second to none and for many years, they’ve shown their sincere interest. We appreciate it!”

Crystal Elliott, CEO of the CRH Foundation says the entire team “couldn’t be more grateful” and she was in awe at the support from the community.

The initial goal going into the event was $400,000.

Funds raised will go toward services, programming and the upgrading and purchasing of new equipment at Chinook Regional Hospital.
