On Mar. 17, Lethbridge Symphony brings you the luck of the Irish with its concert, Tunes from the Emerald Isle.
Join the LSO for toe-tapping music from Riverdance, authentic Irish tunes and hornpipes.
“After hearing those, you’ll be ready to quaff a significant number of green beverages and try a jig yourself,” say organizers.
To add to the St. Patrick’s Day fun, Josh Davies brings his incredible talent to the stage with a trumpet concerto by Oskar Böhme. “This virtuosic, high-spirited work might just bring out the leprechaun in you.”
Davies is a two-time Grammy-nominated performer who enjoys a diverse career, as a versatile performer and educator. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe, in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and the Jubilee Auditoriums in Calgary and Edmonton.
Davies is the trumpet professor and director of the U of L Jazz Ensemble at the University of Lethbridge and has served on the boards of many arts organizations, including The World Trumpet Society and The Lethbridge Jazz Society.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Southminster United Church. Doors open at 7 p.m. For more information or for tickets visit online at lethbridgesymphony.org.
