Flu Shots: Vaccines available at Alberta pharmacies & doctor’s offices

It’s flu shot season and the province is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated.

Health Minister Tyler Shandro rolled up his sleeve Friday (Oct. 11) saying getting your flu shot is one of the best things you can do to protect your own health and others.

The vaccines are now arriving at pharmacies and doctor’s offices across the province.

Influenza shots are free to all Albertans over five years of age at pharmacies, and people who are six months or older at public clinics and some doctors’ offices.

Mass clinics will begin in the week of October 21st.

Last season, the flu immunization rate across the province was 31%, up from 29% the year before.
