You have the chance to hear from Lethbridge Police Service members this week.
The Downtown Lethbridge BRZ is hosting a police town hall on Wednesday.
The LPS will make a presentation on recent work by the Downtown Policing Unit, as well as overall updates at the service.
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
The town hall is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association. The event is free to attend, and spots can be reserved here.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the LPS Downtown Policing Unit had been bolstered by the addition of four new members.
The unit now consists of six Constables and a Sergeant.

Another initiative used by police to enhance safety in the downtown area is ‘The Watch’.
The volunteer group helps reduce strain on LPS resources by responding to select calls that may not immediately need an officer response.

‘The Watch’ is currently seeking volunteers in the hopes of increasing their ranks to around 30 members. More about the program, including how to volunteer, is at the LPS website.
