Former PM Paul Martin to receive honorary degree at U of L Fall Convocation

The University of Lethbridge is presenting Former Prime Minister Paul Martin with an honorary degree.

It’ll be presented this Saturday at Fall Convocation.

U of L Chancellor Charles Weaselhead says Martin has long been a strong advocate for eliminating the gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians in the areas of health, education, housing and economic opportunity.

He adds his work since leaving the office of the Prime Minister has been largely focused on the Martin Family Initiative and its support of Indigenous communities across the country.

Martin served as Prime Minister from 2003 to 2006.
