Tuesday house fire deemed accidental with moderate one-room damage

A northside house fire Tuesday received only limited damage thanks to neighbours who called 9-1-1 after noticing smoke and hearing an alarm, as the homeowners were not home at the time.

Crews from Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a small fire inside the home and quickly extinguished it.

LFES notes the fire was accidental, with “moderate damage to one room,” and no injuries were reported.

The City of Lethbridge and LFES reminds you to dispose of oily or solvent-soaked rags and paper products, as these items can ignite. These items should be stored in a sealed metal container or disposed of safely.
