Economic Development Lethbridge & Chamber conducting business survey

Economic Development Lethbridge and the Chamber of Commerce are working together to survey major local employers and chamber members on their business health.

The survey will begin October 25th and run through to November 8th with results available in the first quarter of 2020.

The last survey conducted two years ago saw the number of major employers jump from 45 to 49 in the Lethbridge area.

This year’s survey will include additional questions to find out information about how businesses are performing overall.

Economic Development CEO Trevor Lewington says this survey will find out what the region is doing well when it comes to employment and possibly where some gaps may be occurring.

“The survey is also a way for EDL to gain valuable knowledge about what is being accomplished in the region,” says Lewington. “In terms of implementing new processes, innovations and technologies to give us a better understanding of how we as an organization and region can attract more major employers, help existing ones, and grow some of the medium sized businesses into major employers if they are ready to take that step.”

A news release states. while major employers account for 35% of the area’s employed workforce, over 80% of businesses in Lethbridge are small to medium sized with less than 100 employees. Having responses from both big employers locally and the chamber members will provide information on how we can better serve our businesses and highlight opportunities for future growth.

Employers that wish to participate in or have questions about the Brighter Together Survey can contact Mike Prociw, Market Intelligence Advisor, Economic Development Lethbridge, at 403-331-0022 or [email protected] or Cameron Howey, Strategic Project Manager, Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, at 403-327-1586 or [email protected].
