Two Lethbridge residents receive Alberta Recreation Volunteer Recognition Awards

Two Lethbridge residents have been recognized on a provincial level for their contributions to sport.

Knud Petersen and Craig Burrows-Johnson each receiving the Alberta Recreation Volunteer Recognition Award this year.

They were honoured this past weekend at the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association Awards Banquet and Conference in Lake Louise.

Peterson has served on several sport organizations in various board positions while Burrows-Johnson has created a network of disc golf courses across the province.

The ARPA has been handing out the awards to four people every year since 1977.

A Lethbridge College alumnus, Tina moved back to the community two years after convocation, in September 2007, to become a member of the CJOC News Team. She started as a weekend reporter/anchor and now serves as Associate News Director. When Tina's not tracking down local news, she's either busy at home with Jordan and their two kids or creating custom macrame pieces for a growing list of clients.
