Construction to begin on Crowsnest Trail Pathway

This week, construction is scheduled to begin on the Crowsnest Trail Pathway in Lethbridge.

The trail will start near the intersection of 4th Avenue South and Mayor Magrath Drive, continuing along the south side of Highway 3 into the WT Hill Business Park area. The construction work is scheduled to continue into the late fall and will resume next spring; the project is anticipated to be completed by August of next year.

Officials from the City of Lethbridge say crews will be working to minimize the construction’s impact on traffic. The speed on roads adjacent to the work will be temporarily reduced.

As well, along the pathway, there will be intersection upgrades and changes completed. This includes the intersection of 28th Street South and Crowsnest Trail, where upgrades that will impact the traffic signals, lighting, and new safety controls will be put in place where the pathway crosses the rail crossing, making it the first crossing of this type in Lethbridge.

More information on the work can be found here.
