Finally some good news when it comes to employment across this area.
Stats Canada releasing jobs numbers for October Friday (Nov. 8) and things are looking up. After several months of increases in unemployment, the Lethbridge-Medicine Hat region saw a sharp drop last month.
The October jobless rate here came in at 6.4 %. That’s down from a high of 7.6% in September.
The provincial numbers look a bit better too, with Alberta’s jobless rate dipping slightly to 6.7%.
Nationally, the unemployment rate held steady last month at 5.5%, despite losing a total of 18 hundred jobs country-wide.
