Coalhurst receives additional funding for anniversary celebrations

The Town of Coalhurst has announced additional funding for its 30th anniversary celebrations. This year marks three decades since Coalhurst was incorporated as a town.

The original 2025 budget for the town included $20,000 to fund anniversary activities throughout this year. At its November 4 meeting, council approved an amendment to the budget to incorporate some additional funds received by sponsors.

Thanks to help from Westco Construction, Precon, MPE and Benchmark Assessment Consultants, $11,500 has helped expand programming for the anniversary.

The Town says the additional funds have assisted with events like the upcoming Heritage Ball and Winter Festival on November 29, which will bring residents together to celebrate Coalhurst’s heritage and community spirit.
