‘Snow Much Love’ campaign highlights local shops, attractions, good eats

Snow Much Love is back, thanks to the city-wide campaign partnership between Tourism Lethbridge, Downtown BRZ, the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Lethbridge.

The campaign encourages residents and visitors to support local shops, restaurants and attractions through the holidays and into the slower post-holiday season, now powered by the Explore Lethbridge web app.

Running from Thursday until Jan. 31, Snow Much Love invites you to use the Explore Lethbridge app to check-in at a minimum of five locations for a chance to win the grand prize. Additional random prize draws will take place throughout the campaign.

How it works

  • Visit participating locations and tap “Check-In” in the app.
  • Make five-plus check-ins during the campaign to qualify for the grand prize, which is worth $500 of local gift cards.

Dominika Wojcik from Tourism Lethbridge says the campaign is a really great way to support local. “Every check-in is a visit that helps our local businesses. It’s all about local businesses, so shopping and exploring.”

The app also highlights the city’s attractions and restaurants, Wojcik adds. “Who doesn’t want to eat good food during the holidays? There’s a whole bunch of different businesses from different categories on the app you can go in and check into.”

“It’s just a great way to discover some more great places in our city and maybe check out places you haven’t been before,” notes Wojcik.

Extending the campaign into January, Wojcik explains, will help target a slower period for the local businesses, especially downtown. “And hopefully keep that momentum going from the Christmas season and help boost those local businesses.”

Last year, the campaign didn’t have an app yet, so it worked a little bit differently, says Wojcik. “With the app introduction this year, it makes it even easier to find the locations and know exactly where you’re going. And the check-in process is super easy.”

Snow Much Love officially launches Thursday at the Festival Square tree lighting event.

“Hopefully, we see everybody out at that.”
