Scheduled power outage temporarily closes Fort Macleod ED Saturday

The Fort Macleod Health Centre emergency department will be temporarily closed due to a scheduled power outage.

According to Alberta Health Services, the ED will be closed from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 7th.

During the closure, nursing staff will be on-site to provide care to long-term care residents. According to AHS, officials are working to ensure residents have access to the care they need during the closure.

EMS calls will be rerouted to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, and patients who are looking to access emergency services are advised to access services at Chinook Regional Hospital, the Pincher Creek Health Centre, Cardston Health Centre or Claresholm Community Health Centre.

Additionally, non-emergency health-related questions can be answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by calling Health Link at 811.
