Drivers across Alberta are being urged by RCMP to stay off the roads if possible due to extreme weather conditions.
Alberta RCMP said whiteout conditions are affecting parts of southern, central and northern Alberta.
Sections of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway are closed, including northbound lanes near Calgary and southbound lanes near Red Deer. Emergency crews are assisting stranded motorists and responding to collisions in the Didsbury and Airdrie areas.
Drivers who must travel are urged to slow down and drive according to conditions.
