Over $1K toys donated as part of Alberta-wide ‘Toys for Tickets’ campaign

The annual ‘Toys for Tickets’ campaign was a success across Alberta.

Since November 20, parking services across Alberta Health Services, Primary Care Alberta, Acute Care Alberta, Assisted Living Alberta and Recovery Alberta have accepted donations of new, unwrapped toys as an alternate way of paying for parking tickets.

The initiative ended on December 19, and officials say 1,218 toys were collected province wide. Those donations will be delivered to local hospital foundations, community partners, and charities.

“It’s inspiring to see how people across Alberta show up for kids,” says Nick Ternovatsky, director of parking services, health shared services.

“Each toy represents someone choosing to give kindness, and that generosity makes a real difference for families during the holidays.”

The campaign launched in 2018.
