A three-year extension emergency services agreement has been entered by the Town of Coaldale and Lethbridge County.
Under the renewed agreement, the Town’s Fire Department will continue to deliver a full-range of emergency services within Lethbridge County, including fire suppression and rescue, response to motor vehicle collisions and medical first response.
These services ensure residents continue to receive timely, professional emergency response from trained personnel.
In addition to emergency response services, the agreement also provides for the Town to deliver fire inspections and fire investigations within Lethbridge County on a fee-for-service basis, supporting safety, prevention and regulatory compliance across both municipalities.
Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn says this agreement reflects the strong and collaborative relationship between the Town and County. “By extending this partnership, we’re ensuring residents continue to receive reliable, high-quality emergency services while making effective and efficient use of regional resources.”
According to Van Rijn, regional cooperation allows municipalities to plan responsibly, maintain service continuity and “strengthen public safety across our communities.”
County Reeve Tory Campbell adds this partnership ensures residents continue to receive reliable, professional fire and emergency response services, “while supporting responsible service delivery and long-term planning.”
“We look forward to working with Coaldale on how we can continue working together in the future,” Campbell notes.
