Police in Lethbridge have charged men from Edmonton and Spruce Grove with drug trafficking-related offences.
The Lethbridge Police Service says on December 30, 2025, members of the Crime Suppression Team spotted a man operating a vehicle that they allege was taking part in drug trafficking activity. Police conducted a traffic stop and say as officers were approaching the vehicle, they spotted the suspect “attempting to swallow multiple baggies of suspected cocaine”.
The 23-year-old man was arrested and LPS reports that a search of his vehicle led to over 14 grams of cocaine, 30 unknown pills, and over $700 in cash being seized. The suspect was charged and later released from custody.
LPS says on December 31, members with the Crime Suppression Team and Property Crimes Unit spotted the same man meeting with another in a residential area of Coalhurst. The two were reportedly conducting a suspicious transaction, according to LPS.
Police say as the men went to return to their respective vehicles, they were arrested, with both vehicles being searched. The LPS reports that in total, officers seized $7,900 in cash and four ounces of cocaine.
Later, police obtained a warrant and searched a home being used as an AirBnB along Devonia Circle West in Lethbridge.
In that search, LPS says nearly $16,500 in cash was seized.
A 23-year-old man from Edmonton is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000 and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000. After his second arrest on December 31, the suspect was remanded in custody and is set to be in court on January 22.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man from Spruce Grove is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to be in court on January 22.
