Have your say: Lethbridge School Division hosts Town Hall in February

The Lethbridge School Division is hosting a town hall next month, giving the community the opportunity to share thoughts about local education with the Board of Trustees.

The event will be on Tuesday, February 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Victoria Park High School. Students, parents, guardians, caregivers, staff members, and everyone in the community is invited to attend.

“The collective voice and shared perspectives of students, staff, parents and community members are essential to creating strong public schools,” says board chair Christine Light.

“Our board values every member of our division family, and [the] town hall is one way we are able to connect with all levels of our community to hear feedback on important issues.”

Light adds that the event is a way to gather feedback to help the board and division plan for the future. “Trustees are there to listen,” she says.

“All feedback gathered on-site and online is reviewed by the board and executive council and helps guide strategic planning for the division moving forward.”

Light says the town hall is one of the most important evenings on the division calendar every year.

“Lethbridge School Division offers incredible choice and opportunity for students in their education journeys and it is imperative it continues to reflect the needs of our community moving forward,” she states.

“We are grateful for everyone’s participation in this event as they share their piece of our division story and look forward to hearing these conversations.”

Those who wish to attend will have to register ahead of time. The division says registration details will be released soon, along with questions and topics to be covered at the event.
