With the wrap of the 2025 edition of Glow Lethbridge, Excite Lethbridge reported more than 20 southern Alberta organizations were impacted by fundraising and increased awareness throughout the event.
The annual indoor Christmas light festival, produced by Excite Lethbridge, ran at the Lethbridge Trade & Convention Centre throughout the holiday season from Nov. 14 to Dec. 31. Glow Lethbridge featured a fairy tale theme this year, following Santa as he was trapped in Fairytale Land, offering guests interactive light displays and activities.
Director of community engagement Sydney Koppe said the holiday season is about giving and giving back.
“While we try to represent that feeling throughout the year, it was extra important to find ways to support our community during Glow 2025,” Koppe said. “From our coat check volunteers, to our community booth program, to partnering with local organizations on one-of-a-kind experiences, we are so thrilled with the involvement from our partners and beyond thankful for our guests who made this year such a success.”
Volunteers at Glow’s by-donation coat check raised the largest amount for Ronald McDonald House Alberta, with proceeds supporting families travelling for paediatric medical care. Volunteers from the organization provided more than 110 volunteer hours during the six-week event, raising $3,488.91.
Each year Ronald McDonald House Alberta supports around 25 families from Lethbridge at one of its four houses in the province.
For the 2025 event the community booth program was added, bringing 20 local organisations to the event. These groups were able to connect with attendees and raise awareness about their services, building on similar initiatives hosted at the Lethbridge Farmers’ Market and Whoop-Up Days.
OThe event also featured the Alberta Large Cars Christmas Cruise, where decorated trucks arrived at the venue to support donations for Lethbridge Family Services Angel Tree campaign.
The City of Lethbridge’s Holiday Bus also was at Glow Lethbridge, and throughout the campaign 1,500 pounds of food was collected for the Christmas Hope campaign, along with cash and toy donations.
