“The Kettle Campaign allows us to provide personal hope, practical assistance and programs to people in need,” says Major Bladen. “All of your Kettle donations stay local and support our efforts year-round to help people get back on their feet.”
Volunteers are needed at the Kettles throughout the Campaign to help The Salvation Army reach their goal. To sign-up for a Kettle shift, please call 403-328-8611 or email [email protected]

The local Kettle Campaign runs November 15th through to Christmas Eve.

Also, another local holiday campaign is underway again for another year.

The Angel Tree Campaign, a Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) initiative, has been making miracles happen for local children for the past 27 years.

More than 2300 kids, from infants to teens will receive gift bundles for Christmas morning. Every bundle will include something from each child’s wish list, something to fuel their imagination and something educational.

The kick off to this year’s Angel Tree Christmas Campaign was hosted this week at St. Teresa of Calcutta Elementary School on the north side.

“27 years ago, Lethbridge Family Services started a gift-giving program, Angel Tree, which has now become a community tradition, “says Sandra Mintz, CEO, LFS, “a true partnership of businesses, individuals and other agencies working together. Every time I see a paper angel on a tree I think, that is a child’s wish; and we came together as a community to fill that wish. It’s magical.”

A list of all 115 participating businesses, schools and organizations can be found of the LFS website.
