Town of Taber announces plans for craft cannabis, hemp, and agrifood supply chain

The Town of Taber announcing it’s the future home of Canada’s first premium craft cannabis, hemp, and agrifood supply chain.

Grasslands Taber Cooperative Premium Park will be located on 60 acres in the community’s Eureka Industrial Park along Highway 36.

Taber Mayor Andrew Prokop says “thanks to our working relationship with GLTC, we are diversifying our local economy and becoming leaders in a new market that will allow our community and businesses to succeed and reap the economic benefits in the future, continuing to ensure Taber remains a great place to grow.”

A sod turning took place Friday morning.

The park is set to include cultivation, extraction, processing and distribution facilities and services.

The focus will be to combine individual niche businesses in the cannabis, hemp, and infused agrifood markets and leverage the collaboration for mutual success.
