Experience the city’s arts and culture scene at the Allied Art Council of Lethbridge’s Family Fun Day.
Families are invited to come together and participate in different free, drop-in art activities that are designed for all ages to enjoy.
Young and old can explore hands-on activities, including Box City, button-making, community painting and drawing.
Music lovers can engage with the uLethbridge Conservatory of Music through Drawing to Music and world drumming sessions, offering a dynamic and immersive experience for participants.
In addition to the exciting activities, attendees will get to take advantage of early registration for summer camps.
Art builds self-expression and teaches patience and resilience, notes Will Big Bull, manager of engagement. “We live in difficult times. Mental health is plummeting, and families are struggling throughout many different communities with one thing in common – we need to connect.”
Big Bull adds that art is an incredible conduit to bring people together, into creative spaces that welcomes everyone into the circle.
“Lethbridge is a creative community. Casa is the place to ignite that creativity. Family Fun Day is a great opportunity for everyone to spend an afternoon in a dedicated centre for the arts. It can open endless possibilities for blossoming young minds and brings generations together,” he points out.
To celebrate Black History Month, The BIPOC Foundation is presenting the pop-up digital exhibit REEL: Talk Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Casa Community Room.
An Arts and Crafts Swap is being held February 15 from 12 to 5 p.m., also in the Community Room.
AAC’s Annual General Meeting is taking place March 26 in the Community Room. Everyone is welcome. You can RSVP to info@artslethbridge.org.
