Annual Christmas Tree lighting at Lethbridge City Hall

Lethbridge City Hall is all decked out for the holiday season.

The annual lighting of the big Christmas Tree took place Monday morning (Nov. 18)

Mayor Chris Spearman says this year, donations of unwrapped toys and gifts for children and youth aged 17 and younger and/or non-perishable food items will be collected for the Christmas Hope Campaign.

“I think this is what the spirit of Christmas is all about,” says Spearman. “We have to reach out to others. We have to have that spirit of giving, that’s what Christmas really is about. Making sure that others have a happy Christmas.

City Hall staff are also volunteering their time to decorate the foyer.

In December, the annual Sounds of the Season concert series will hit City Hall with local choirs and bands playing in the foyer.

Mayor Spearman is encouraging those who can and have the ability to give this holiday season, to give and support those in our community who really need it.
