Wind warning in effect for Lethbridge and area

It is expected to be a windy start to the week for Lethbridge.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a yellow warning for wind, impacting Lethbridge and surrounding communities.

The agency said west wind gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour are expected to develop by Monday evening and continue into Tuesday.

The gusts will gradually slow down Tuesday afternoon, according to the warning.

Officials added that loose objects should be secured, and driving could be difficult, with high-sided vehicles expected to be pushed around by the wind.

A map of the impacted areas is available on the Environment Canada website, and includes communities like Cardston, Warner and Pincher Creek, among others.
