The driver of a semi-truck whose trailer was hit by a moving train earlier this week is facing a charge of careless driving.
According to RCMP media officials, members from the Taber–Vauxhall detachment were called to the scene on Range Road 260 at 2:17 p.m. on March 17.
Police said the semi was stopped at a stop sign and moved forward to make what officials described as a tight left turn, when the vehicle stopped on the tracks and was struck by the train. Police said only the trailer was hit and the truck was able to drive away.
The driver is reported to have suffered minor injuries.
