Taber reports drop in violent crime in 2025

According to a new crime analysis, the Town of Taber has seen a decline in violent crime and remains a safe, stable community.

The 2025 Taber Police Service crime analysis was presented at the Taber municipal police commission meeting April 15.

The report said total crimes against persons dropped 24 per cent in 2025, indicating violent incidents such as assaults and similar offences remain relatively low.

The likelihood of a resident becoming a victim of this type of crime is just over one per cent, according to the analysis. Police said many of the decreases reflect a return to typical levels following slight increases in previous years, suggesting no major emerging concerns in that area.

The report noted small increases in property offences and other Criminal Code offences.
The 2025 crime analysis is available on the Town of Taber website under the police section.
