A hunter who’d been reported overdue earlier this week in southwest Alberta has been been found safe by Crowsnest Pass RCMP.

The hunter’s family notified police Tuesday night (Nov. 26) that the 48 year old Pincher Creek man was out hunting that afternoon, but had not been heard from for several hours.

The man was reported to be an experienced outdoorsman, however he didn’t turn up when RCMP searched the area.

Another coordinated search was conducted Wednesday and the man was located.

The missing hunter was found in the Beaver Mines Lake Road area. He told the search team that he was stranded overnight due to his vehicle breaking down.
